Who We Are
When our Founder Courtney arrived back to New Zealand after living abroad, she thought it was quite a challenge keeping up with what’s on in her region due to all the various online platforms, newsletters and road-side advertising… she ended up feeling overwhelmed, stressed out about how to use her time well and missing out on a lot of experiences unnecessarily. It also became apparent, that many people weren’t managing their Mental Wellbeing in a proactive and preventative manner.
Put these two things together and you get Happylocal.
Why should I use Happylocal?
Do you look after your physical health by doing exercise and eating well? And what about your Mental Health – do you only do something when you get to breaking point or feel overwhelmed?
We wanted to create a tool for you that inspires, includes and informs you of all the local events, experiences and community groups that can benefit your Mental Wellbeing. Think of it as an alternative type of therapy through experiences.
At Happylocal, we are on a mission to help time-poor people like you feel joy more often, learn new things, get better connected to your kind of people and create more meaning in your lives. We want to see you thrive in a well-connected local community that you also contribute to and can be proud of.
